'Avatar' and 'The Dark Knight' Among the Most Pirated Movies Ever

Imagine how much money "greedy motherf--ker" James Cameron could have made on 'Avatar' if it wasn't stolen by dastardly Internet pirates. According to a report from the website TorrentFreak, 'Avatar' -- the highest grossing movie ever -- is the most pirated movie of all time. The film -- which, as THR notes, was touted by the director as being the best hope against piracy because of 3D -- has been illegally downloaded 21 million times, two million more than runner-ups 'The Dark Knight' and 'Transformers.' All three films grossed over $700 million worldwide, but their DVD revenues could have been hurt by the illegal downloads. Elsewhere on the list, blockbusters like 'Inception,' 'The Hangover,' 'Star Trek' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.' The most surprising entries? 'Kick-Ass' -- which is the only film among the ten to not gross $100 million at the box office -- and the critically derided 'The Incredible Hulk' with Edward Norton. Head over to TorrentFreak for the full list.
