'Footloose' kicks it up at B.O.

'Footloose' is expected to take the No. 1 at the box office this weekend, grossing north of $15 million."Footloose" is expected to take the No. 1 spot at the domestic B.O., based on early Friday figures. Box office observers expect the pic to bow with grosses north of $15 million. Pic has taken in nearly $1 million as of this afternoon. "Real Steel" is looking to drop less than 45%, and observers expect the pic to pull in somewhere between $12 million and $14 million. That would put it neck-and-neck with "The Thing," which is shaping up with a debut of just north of $13 million based on Friday afternoon grosses. It's tallied about $475,000 as of mid-Friday afternoon. "Ides of March" is likely to be down about 35% to gross somewhere in the $7.5 million ballpark. "Dolphin Tale" is holding over strong in its fourth frame, with B.O. watchers putting the film's take in the $6 million range. Fox's "The Big Year," however, is looking to perform more modestly with $3 million to $5 million.
